I remember thinking things were pretty screwed up 10 years ago.
Today, 10 years ago seems almost like a paradise.
Craziness of all kinds has picked up massive steam since then.
Every major institution despises us. We have to go to great lengths to educate our kids so they escape the most ludicrous propaganda. We find our opinions -- and even indisputable facts -- suppressed. The state, meanwhile, has claimed all sorts of unprecedented powers over us.
And then there's the economy.
The spending and debt are beyond control at this point. Yes, spending was high during World War II, but the war eventually came to an end and the spending was ratcheted back.
This spending may ratchet back, too, but the new spending level will be much higher than it would have been had the previous trend continued.
It leaves us all wondering: what will happen next? And what in heaven's name, in one area after another (with our money, our jobs, our kids' education, and so on), should we do to prepare?
Well, I'm happy to report that I was just interviewed for a forthcoming docuseries called Endgame, which takes up all of these issues.
I feel confident that you will enjoy my remarks.
The documentary comes from the people who created that docuseries Money Revealed that we all enjoyed last year, and which featured people like John Mackey, the libertarian CEO of Whole Foods.
