I assumed it was a fairly routine visit to the dermatologist for my annual examination.
They saw something a little suspicious so they did a biopsy, and it came back that it was pre-cancerous.
Well, that was a bit of a shock.
So right now I'm on my way to the dermatologist's office for a procedure I'm not exactly looking forward to.
They're going to numb the area, scoop out a substantial amount of my skin, and then use sutures to put me back together.
Sure is a good thing I went in for that annual examination.
You sometimes hear it said that we ought to expect the unexpected, and that's how I felt when I got this result.
As it happens, we're living at a moment in which there are plenty of unexpected things whose outcomes are uncertain.
Nobody expected the restrictions and insanity of 2020, for example. And it's still not entirely clear how all that will unravel.
And sure, we expect the federal government to spend enormous amounts of money, but even I have been shocked at the spending trajectory. What is going to come of all this spending and debt?
We have a society that is so deeply divided that people are ending friendships over trivial political issues.
Where does it all wind up? And what should we be doing to prepare ourselves for these uncertain outcomes?
This week I've been telling you about a docuseries called Endgame for which I am one of the interviewees. I talked about these issues and more, as well as what people ought to be doing to protect themselves.
You can watch the entire series for free as long as you register in advance.
Also, I have a feeling that if I bring them a bunch of viewers, they just might feature me again in the future.
So if you have the same sense of foreboding that I do, then head over to the link below and register right away:
